Need a little guidance with editing code

First I would like to say thanks for releasing such an awesome product. I'm now the proud owner of both PHP Pro and Classifieds.

After many hours of loosing sleep I've made some progress molding my classifieds suite in to what will be a job listing addon for my vb forum.

I'll try and make this short and to the point of what I would like to do as well as use photo illustrations. The purpose or goal in me using the classifieds software is for job listings for casting calls and model ad submissions. Naturally I would like to remove some items thats geared towards "for sale" listings and/or auctions.

I've read the sticky on modifying templates in the FAQ section and it has helped me a good deal however I'm stomped on a few things in wrapping up my alterations.

First, I've successfully copied the "For Sale" template for id's 0 and 1 which will allow for photo uploads for both (ad type0)models and (ad type1) photographers. I'm have difficulty editing the english.php as I keep getting an error message for "unable to write changes, permissions on english.php are not set properly". Please reference 1st photo attachment. Basically what I would like to do is change a few things to reflect placement for jobs.

I copied the entire code for english.php into my html editor and performed a search on some key words to modify this template however they could not be located. "Whats is it you are looking for?" and "What is it that you are selling" is the phrase I'm looking for to edit to replace it with "Ad Title". I've had no success in locating these phrases.

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
Next I was hoping to remove some fields such as "Condition of this item?" "Asking Price" "Currency" and a few others as noted below which should be located in the uploadproductX.tmpl. No success in locating those words in the editor.

Lastly..I would like to edit the "Condition" column in the "showcat.php" template..again I'm not able to locate the key word "condition to modify it. Please reference last and final photo attachment 3 titled Photopostedit3.

Thanks for your assistance in advance.

What I may do to make the process much easier is copy/paste the "Personals" template as it provides me with the necessory fields minus the editing headaches of the "Forsale" "Help Wanted" templates.

In this case, how would I remove the "In Search of Field" in the uploadproduct.php template?

Thanks.

All the wording is located in the language files but take note that there are new language files for new templates the ones you create based on the thread you note. You can place language strings in there to overwrite any default settings. To edit english.php through the admin interface it needs to be writable meaning ftp to the file and set it 666 via CHMOD.

As far as removing variables it is just a matter of removing what you want like you say price currency condition. Well those variables are $price $currency and $rating and clearly marked in the template you noted so you should easily be able to find that html and delete it

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
