I dropped all the usergroups from the usergroup table except the admin group and then refershed and that fixed the issue

of course I had to reset all the permissions but its worth it

Just upgraded from 3.03 to 3.11.
You do not have permission for this action! when placing an ad.

Is the only fix to drop all usergroups and start all over?

Well, I followed Silver_2000's fix.
Deleted all usergroups except admin and restored my usergroups.
Updated permissions. Working now.

Does everyone need to do this when updating?

You should not have to delete usergroups.

I dont see any issues unless say someone switched an integration and your categories had wrong group perms set.

I'm having the same problems. Members can not place ads. Is there a fix other than deleting the user groups?

Drop the usergroups where from my forum or photopost?

Have you set proper permissions for usergroups in both edit usergroups and under edit categories?

The delete usergroups suggestion I see above is to delete any usergroup in photopost usergroup table except admin and do a reimport from forum using the link in edit usergroups for that option although I dont see what that would change.

You dont have permission for what action where?

You would use phpmyadmin and view the usergroups table in photopost database and delete all except admin groupu and reimport is in the script under edit usergroups in admin.

No if I log in as a member I do not have permission to upload an ad.

If I delete it i mean that I have to re do the permissons on photopost.

We set permissions based on the users usergroup. So maybe there usergroup is not what you think it is?

We are not talking files here. I am merely saying we set permissions based on usergroups permissions these are set and stored in the database. The message you get is from a user have uploads set to 0 so they dont belong there. So from what I see the group the user belongs to does not have right to upload.

Have you cleared usergroups as noted in this thread and done a resync?

I have same problem!!

When I goto the usergoups and set the required sections to yes then save it does not save them and they are back at NO again

Tried the above fix and still not update, admin is same, so at this moment the software is unusable on my site as nobody can upload anything.

Have also checked the catergories to se if the usergroup is active there and it is!

if you save usergroup permissions they should save. The above thread is not about that.
