Additional field, year model for car classifieds

Hey!
My site is kinda like Viperalley.

I really think its important that people can sort cars after year model and kilometer/miles. Can this be done as an additional field? And make it a possibuility to sort after this when browsing?

well you can define one of the original 6 extra field under edit categories which are searchable for a model year and they are searched in search however to modify the search script to add some sort of year box that is code modification and falls outside support. You can post in our code mod forums on that and basically if I follow what your asking you can modify the search template and showcat php file to acheive that.
