| How does a user see the comments on an ad?
I recently had a user complain to me that he got notice a comment was posted about his ad, but he had no way to see the comment because when you go to his ad, you can't see any comments. While I can see the most recent comments section, I can't seem to go to an ad and just see the comments for that ad.
How do people find and go see the comments for the ads they are browsing? I didn't see a way, thanks...
- Frank

Have you approved the comments under admin => moderate comments?

Doh! I didn't! I just approved them all! I thought I accomplishe that in premissions but I am obviously mistaken. Exactly how do I set it so that comments get automatic approval? I saw in one thread you answered: Quote: |
Yes moderation is a global element in edit usergroup permissions
| But I didn't understand what to change. In Usergroup permissions, is the yes/no toggle for "Moderate Ads?" allowing users to moderate their own ads? Is that what makes approval automatic? I am confused. I just want all comments to show all the time and if there is a problem I can delete it. Thanks in advance, Chuck!

This would be no for moderate ads in edit usergroups. I am assuming your using the latest code on this answer.

Hi Chuck - I am not sure I understood you. What exactly do I have to do so that feedback and comments are automatically approved and go right in when a user creates them?

You need to set moderate ads to NO in Admin => Edit Usergroups

Hi Chuck! Yes, they all had been and still are on "NO." I had already set moderate ads to NO in Admin => Edit Usergroups long ago and it hasn't changed. So I am not understanding why feedback and comments were awaiting my approval all this time. On a sidenote, Mod Access is NO for all but me as well.

well I asked if your running 2.6 cause if not in older classifieds only admins could leave unmoderated comments otherwise all comments need approval.

Hi Chuck, I don't know what version, I can't find it. I didn't get it that long ago - maybe a handful of months. Where do I look for that?

More than likely you have 2.5 which submits all comments for approval except admin. You can upgrade to 2.6 if you like. Upgrade instructions are included in the downloaded source code of classifieds.
it is as simple as uploaded everything except your two config files and install.php and running the upgrade.php script and selecting the 2.5 to 2.6 upgrade

To someone at my level of skill that sounded scary and too likely to have me screw something up! I was hoping there was a way to automate feedback and comments but I guess I will have to wait until I am ready to take on an upgrade...
