Also, if I wanted to keep the box, but only get rid of "users browsing the ads", where is that code found?

You can disable who's online to not show that box and you can turn off the stats pal not to show that box.

I saw "Display product stats on index page?" in the admin cp but I didn't see the option for "who's online".... where do I disable that?

Also, I set "Display product stats on index page?" to "no", but the box is still there

You can turn off the statspal and who's online in sidebar options in admin
