Sold items that don't go away?

I have the cron job running daily to move expired ads to the expired ads queue and then I delete them manually with the bulk approve delete function (oh, I simplified this process. I changed the php file that controls this section and made the "delete" radio button the default setting. So, now all I have to do is click submit and deletions happen one whole page at a time.) But I have a number of old ads marked "sold" that never seem to go away. What can I do to get rid of these.

Here are some links to these.

What's up with this? And how do I correct it?

Your running the cron task right? I guess I would suggest you upload clean files if you have modified things. I show no open issues with ads not expiring if someone runs the sendnotice script

bulk options does not delete ads. If you go to approve ads and go to the expired que you can manually delete them but you might have an issue with your edits that are causing them not to be deleted.

Now in 2.6 I added in a silent operation to delete all expired ads over 2 weeks old

Yes, I'm running the cron task daily. I meant bulk move/approve function expired ads. That sure is a clunky process. Especially after you submit a page of expired ads to be deleted and the page always refreshes to some random catagory full of ads. Why does it do that anyway?

All three of those orphaned ads that were marked sold were "auctions" and all were old. I had a lot of problems with people checking the auction box without meaning to or realizing it.

I have disabled the auction process entirely from my classifieds. Removed it from the ad forms so that it's not an option. That whole process seems to confuse folks. It would be nice if "Auctions" was a separate function entirely and separate from classifieds.

I noticed 2.6 beta. Is that safe to use in production or should I wait.

I would suggest you try out the beta it is safe. I dont see an issue in 2.5 with ads not expiring but hey in 2.6 we delete them in the background when you go to admin so its much easier
