Edit/change duration of an ad?

How does the author of an ad edit or change the duration of an ad?

It doesn't seem to be an option on the edit routine.

"Oops, I meant to run that for 3 months, not 3 days."

or

"I want to extend my ad."

"I said it was sold, but that was a mistake. I relisted it, but there was no change or chance to change the duration and expiration. The expiration of the newly relisted ad is NOT recalculated based on the duration and relist date of today."

or

"I intentionally flag it as sold and relist it for the sole purpose of extending the expiration date." That doesn't work.

I need to be able to edit the duration. Is there any reason why this isn't an option? Or am I missing something?

I guess I can see not being able to edit it for paid ads, but even for those ads, admins/mods should be able to edit it.

Also, I need the owner of free ads to be able to edit their own duration. For me, they are animal adoption listings and if the animal isn't adopted yet, they need to be able to easily extend and renew their own ads.

Any issues with adding the logic into the edit?

You can not change the duration after posting an ad and this should be true and correct logic. You can discuss code mods in our modification forum but editing the duration of an ad is not something on most any auction site. You can relist it if not sold.

As far as relisting an ad if you relist an ad it is relisted for the duration you originally selected again from the moment you relisted it so say it was originally 2 weeks you hit relist it will relist from today till 2 weeks from now. Here is the specific relist date format
