changing ownership of files from "root"

can we change the owner of some of the key files that we have been modifying from root to the admin account created when photopost was installed?

or do they have to remain that way? Its just annoying to be unable to modify files via FTP and be stuck with ssh access.

well that would depend on you and your access to the server. If you have root access sign in via SSH as root AND cd to the webroot and say for example your photopost directory is photopost and your regular ftp account is jimbob you would type something like this

chown -R jimbob photopost

guess it was more of a "do any of those files need to keep their root ownership for software functionality" than a "how do I change them" post =)

is it going to break anything in the photopost software to change the permissions of these files from root to the admin account created when it was installed?
