Notification is not set on new ads

When posting an ad and selecting "yes" on comment notification, nothing is added to the "notify" record in the db.
It is only set if you select notification after the ad is posted. (From the ad's menu)
Cant believe it's a bug, but I have tested with all original php/tmpl files and it still doesn't work...

Have you set in admin to allow notifications? Seems to work for me on a default install and the code in image-inc.php seems valid. This is what I show at the bottom of that file

Yes, I have set it to allow notifications. (Or else the option wouldnt have been visible in the upload form?)

But I assume that a record should be added to the notify field if you place an ad with Want to be notified by email when users post replies? set to yes?
That does not happen, nothing is added.

To save confusion: Is that option the same as the Receive Email Updates in the ad menu?
What is this fuction supposed to do? Only notify on comments?
What if the item is sold. Or edited (f.ex. price changed). Should that generate a notification?

I would suggest you download the build and ensure you dont have an old file or so on your install

I see no issues with this functionality

That made it, so there is an error in the build we are using, downloaded 03.july.
We have many mods so i need to patch this manually.
How do I find out what to change, the current changelog is from february.

Would have been nice if the files contained build number.

Found it, corrections in uploadproduct.php and image-inc.php.
One option I miss is the ability to let notification to be mandatory on own ads.
I have set it to Yes with a hidden tag in uploadproduct.tmpl, but the user still has the possibility of turning it off in the ad menu.
One possible solution is to hide this menu option on own ads. But this is beyond my php-capabilities....
