Favicon question with pp Class (vb3 integration)

I am currently running PP classifieds with VB3 integration and I have edited the vb3 headinclude template to include:

The favicon appears fine on the main page and some of my other pages but when I go to any subcategories it disappears. Do I need to edit the headtags or header information area in the PP Classifieds admin to include this code as well?

As far as i am aware you just need the favicon in each directory you want it to show in, thats what i do and mine shows up.

I have my favicon.ico in the following dirs:

public_html/favicon.ico (main dir where Classifieds is installed)
public_html/forum/favicon.ico (Vbulletin dir)

Here is are examples of when the favicon appears and when it does not:

www.domainname.com - OK
www.domainname.com/forum/ - OK
www.domainname.com/forum/memberlist.php - OK
www.domainname.com/index.php/cat/1 - NG
www.domainname.com/showcat.php/cat/104 - NG

Update. I resolved the issue!

Initially, I had this at the end of my 'headinclude' in vbulletin:

it will for you, i would say you have your site in your favorites this is what the favicon is for but those that dont wont see it

Actually, I tested in a fresh virtual XP session with the cache cleared and no favorites. It appears correctly on the front and all subpages. Yay!

Yes as Sybaris points out you need to put the file in every directory or use a full path to the image as you have found out if your using one file. You can not use a relative image path over another directory since the file will never be found.
