Homepage default sort order is views

For some reason the sort order on my installation is Views, not Most recent, if I list ads from the homepage. (last day etc..)
How do I set Most Recent as default here?

(note that there is an error in your featured page also, you cant change sort order, it jumps right back to Most recent.
It would have been nice if you could set up a standard, clean installation so that we can test how things are supposed to work...).

BTW: What does it mean to sort on most popular? I thought this would be the same as Views..?

Another question on the homepage: I see that the main categories are collapsable at your featured page, not so on ours (invision integrated). Has this to do with VB integration?

most popular is sort by views and comments

collapse cats are those that are parent cats with no thumbs in them so its how you set things. If you have a parent cat with subcats set the parent cat to contains ads to NO in edit categories.

Ok, I see that the default install also sort on Views, how can I change this to Most recent?

I have set parent cat to Contains No Ads, but it's still not collapsable.

The default sort is sort 2 if you set no default sort. In Admin => Edit Categories you can set your default cat sorts

The parent cat is only collapsable when there is something to collapse therefore post a link here for us to see.

Default for all categories, incl. the top level, are set to Most Recent, still it sorts on Views at the index page. If I go to a sub-category it's sorted on Most Recent.

Hello there is no sort set to views on index page in fact there is no sort of photos at all that only happens in showcat

The categories sort on the index depending on the order you set them to display in edit categories

Yes, I understand that.
I'm talking about the sort order you get when you list ads from the Index page. (last day, last 7 days etc.)
As you can see at your default installation that is Most Views. I want it to be Most recent...

If no sort is specified the default sort is sort 2 which is most views and you can modify your showcat.php file if you choose and change 2 to 1

Thanks Chuck, that did it, sorts on Most Recent now!

Fine if you have a chance to look at why our top-cat is not collapsable.

For security reasons I don't want to post the URL here, have sent you a PM with the URL. It's also in my customer details.
(I see many of the PPC sites around have the same problem with topcat not collapsable)
