| blankoboy | July 18th, 2006 04:57 AM | Item Condition (uploadproduct.tmpl) edit I was not fond of the default way that uploadproduct.tmpl had "excellent" as the default option as many users would be prone to selecting it.
To resolve this, I decided to make the default option "Please Select" leaving the value blank. Quote:
</td>
<td class="{$Style['tddetails']}"><select name="rating">
<option selected="selected" value="">Please Select</option></option>
<option value="{$Globals['pp_lang']['poor']}">{$Globals['pp_lang']['poor']}</option>
<option value="{$Globals['pp_lang']['fair']}">{$Globals['pp_lang']['fair']}</option>
<option value="{$Globals['pp_lang']['good']}">{$Globals['pp_lang']['good']}</option>
<option value="{$Globals['pp_lang']['great']}">{$Globals['pp_lang']['great']}</option>
<option value="{$Globals['pp_lang']['excellent']}">{$Globals['pp_lang']['excellent']}</option>
</select>
</td>
| When they do not select anything the condition field appears blank. I much prefer this to "excellent" showing up for everyone's posts.
I am concerned though, is it ok to be leaving the value="" blank like I have above? Any possible adverse affects to doing this? Quote:
<option selected="selected" value="">Please Select</option>
| Is there a better way to go about doing this? Thanks. |
