Angry $'s aint $'s

Hi

My site is Australian Based and as such i want to use Australian $'s as the ONLY currency available.

I have AUD for the paypal currency part,

BUT where can i set the currency(s) avaible when creating an advert. i want to turn off euro and USd etc etc and just have an AUD option.

I did have it set to use default currency but now all listings have changed to Euro's and i need to find out how to change it to AU $'s and not have the other currencies as an option.

TIA

The currency options in our program are USD EURO AND POUND.

You would need to modify your uploadproduct editproduct showproduct templates and PHP files to alter things to be Australian based.

We can gladly look at supporting this in a future version.

please feel free to do so....

i'm sorry, but i find it truly and utterly amazing that in this type of software there is no option to tell it to just use $'s and not pounds or eruo's, or vice versa, i have to say it's a pretty major flaw in the design logic as it imposes so many limitations into what is otherwise not a bad bit of software.

what php files need to be modified?

You can set in admin global options your currency value to australian sign so there is no design flaw here.

The drop down boxes as to what currency the user would like to display for payment on the site only currently supports 3 currencies.

I stated the php and template files that need to be modified in my last post.

there is something going on as the attached pics will show.

settings for both areas displayed in the attached pics are identical, but one displays the euro currency symbol NO MATTER what, and the other shows no currency symbol which would be great! and get me by for now

same template, two different behaviours.

how is this occurring...any ideas?

This tells it all here. You can remove the currency selectors in the templates uploadproduct etc.

Then as the code suggests if currency is empty then it shows your global option.

If you set in Admin => Global Options the currency to the australian symbol it will show

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
Basically all you want to do is make sure your Admin => Global Options and Admin => Payment Options currency variables is set to nothing since there is no such thing as an australian currency symbol

i seem to have gotten round it, thanks for the help chuck_s, much appreciated. i had to edit the files you mentioned in the std and vb3 folders, and alter the english language file "use default currency" to "use Australian Dollars".

Would love it if the next version had AUD support seeing paypal support it etc now...

You can use australian dollars now and use paypal.

Only thing I have said above is the australian dollar has no symbol so you need to keep the currency symbol blank. We can look at adding additional currencies in the drop downs next version
