Can you search for a category

I don't see any search results for categories. It may seem strange until you have 6000 categories and 4 levels to drill down into. Having to browse to each category is very tedious. Is there a way to include categories in searches?

No auctions at the moment for any category, just starting!

I'm not sure what to expect from the search. If it would at least return the index information that would be great. I think the answer is staring me in the face, but I just want to confirm that if there are no auctions, there are no results; the system will not return the index information with that same search string.

I am just trying to figure out what your saying your problem is? Does your searh page look like mine? Do you have all the cat's listed on search page where you can choose which ones to search.

I think it's fine, but...

I get a massive list of categories at the bottom of the screen, so I presume this is working correctly. There are no auctions at the time, so no matter what I choose, I come up "empty". What would be nice is the specific category/index were selected as part of that search, at least drop the user into that category/index to ease their browsing efforts. This way, the bread crumbs and category intro would be populated with at lest the category they were searching and the intro might have a lot of information in it.
So to conclude, I "thought" that the search would already do that, but it looks like not. Thanks for all of your help.

p.s. We're ready to start auctions just as soon as a "relist" feature can be added to your enhancement list. :D

Well what are you searching for? Your only going to find things you search for in the cats you select is to input a variable to search for.

Without more info on what your trying I can not comment further.

My apologies

I'm sorry for making such a mess of this question. With nothing posted it would seem there's nothing to search. No search term will return a positive result since there are no postings.
That said, I was hoping that the search result page might actually end up being the "ShowCat" page of the category selected in the search, rather than a search result page. This would seem the best of both worlds as the person searching, may be looking to place an ad, or a Want Ad, in that category (hence their search).
My first thought would be that entering a searh term for a category might yield a link to that category, rather than having to scroll down 6080 entries to find the category, or browse the hierarcy in the index.
It was just a thought.
Thank you,
GateKeeper
