| How to add an extra field to an ad?
How to add check boxes for extra fields?
Sorry about the multiple posts today. There are all different questions, and I noticed that if you ask to many question in one post, some get overlooked.
Thanks,

That would require code modification to achieve something like this. Replacing an input box with a select box is rather easy but with checkboxes your dealing with arrays which is slightly harder. You can discuss this kind of thing in the mods forum.

| Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
Replace the html for extra1 say with this in uploadproduct.tmpl you can vary it with your needs but this is a good example

This worked fine for me in uploadproduct, but in order for the drop-down menus to appear when editing an ad, it was neccessary to add the code into editproduct.
The only problem is that when someone edits their ad, the value in the drop-down menu reverts back to the default value, not the current value in the existing ad....
This is a problem because if someone is editing a different part of the ad, they may not notice that the value in the drop-down menu has changed.
Is there a way to correct this in uploadproduct?
This is probably a simple fix, but I'm still just getting the hang of this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Chuck, I think you have misunderstood my issue.
I don't need any more extra fields.
I'm talking about drop down menus in the extra fields as per your code 3 posts above...

Wow, that's great!
If I upgrade, what will I lose in terms of work already done in the previous versions ie: categories, modifications, etc?

I don't mind re-doing all the code modifications. What I'm worried about is the thousand categories/subcategories!!!
I assume that when you say "normal in the program", categories/subcategories falls under "normal in the program"...
Just to be 100% clear, my categories/subs will be safe if I upgrade, right?
(If I lose my cats/subs, I'll be devasted )

Yes your regular info cats products reviews etc are all fine in an upgrade
Only thing not safe in an update is any modifications you have done since they would not exist in our default code
