Is there a guide to which template is which on the index page?

I would like to move the recent ads bar between the "news" section and the "welcome" bar, but can't see which template it is?

Is there an image map somewhere showing which templates make up the index.php page? If not, which template(s) do I edit?

There should be a switch in the admin => layout options to show the recent ads up top. This should help you out.

Now if you specifically want to change the order of this you need to edit index.php and switch the order of these two conditional clauses making the announcements print after the most_resent images.
