Dissappearing Recent Ads Photos??

I have the recent ads set to 4 rows (8 total) and it was fine until today. This morning the 8th pic was blank, and starting this afternoon #7 & #8 are both gone??

I haven't made any changes?

Display Ads with no Photos in Features is set to no. I haven't changed the settings and it started happening today?

The only other thing to check would be category permissions. If you do not have permission to view your not going to see. what is the site link?

It's strange because I haven't touched any of the settings, and yesterday morning 1 pic was missing, than a few hours later 2 were missing. I've logged in as the admin and under a registered user name and same thing.

Basically you need to set the setting I stated above to yes to show ads with no photos otherwise you will see this and this is how it is suppose to appear with the way you have the settings set.

If I set the Display ads with no photos to YES it show ads with no photos? That gives me 4 ads with the "No Thumbnail" message in red letters. I only want ads with photos.

We pull the number of ads you want plus 10 extras and out of that amount check to see which ones the users are allowed to see based on your settings

Therefore things are displaying how you have it set.

I have over 250 ads in the classifieds, and it worked fine for the last few months. Yesterday one picture was missing, than a few hours later a second one was missing. I haven't touched any of the settings??

I think your not understanding what I have posted on how this works.

You are electing to not show ads with no photos. Hense what is happening now is your users are uploading alot of ads with no photos. Thus since you have this set like this as I described your showing 8 ads so we grab the last 18 ads. Well out of those 18 ads only 6 have photos thus 6 ads show. If you want to show ads without photos you need to set that option noted to yes

I just checked and 10 of the last 18 ads have photo's, that still doesn't give any weight to your theory of why it stopped working? I have it set to show 8 ads, and you said it pulls the amount I want plus 10 extras so the last 18 ads. With 10 photo ads (out of the last 18) it should have 8 photo ads displayed in the recent ads correct?

So if one day there happens to be 18 non photo ads placed in a row, the recent ads box will be completely blank??

And no I don't want to show ads without photos, that's the problem in the first place, it is set not to and i'm getting blank spaces anyway.

It is actually 5 extra so 13 not 18 and out of those 13 only 6 have photos. This is not a theory here. I am explaining how this setting works.

Yes if you dont want to show ads with no photos then recent ads will be blank.

Ok you said it pulled 10 extra so the math didn't add up, that's why I didn't understand.

Is it possible to have it pull 10?

You can edit your pp-inc.php display_gallery function and change your $grabnum variable to pull 10 extra not 5

I've had to bump $grabnum up to 35 to make sure it always has enough photos. Is this a problem for any reason? Is it a strain on the server or anything? I figure there has to be some downside, otherwise it would have been coded with a big number to begin with?

Yes it is coded to grab only say 10 extra as not to bog down the system searching for ads with photos when say you have alot that dont. If you dont have a big forum it should not be a big deal.
