These checked usergroups can view ads in this category

I made blank categories (category with no name) in between each of my real categories and was unchecking the first group "These checked usergroups can view ads in this category", only for the blank categories.

It was creating a space on all the drop down menus and was not showing up on the main classifieds page, doing exactly what I wanted- but I figured out it was preventing the "Ads from this Seller" function from working completely.

My question is why would unchecking the user groups just in these placeholder blank categories, prevent the "ads from this seller" working completely. Shouldn't it just stop working on those categories where they are unchecked?

Basically I have so many categories it makes it easier to navigate through the drop down menu with spaces in between the categories.

Because it was causing the "ads from this seller" to stop working, I had to go back and recheck "These checked usergroups can view ads in this category" on all the blank categories. So now I still have the blank categories in the drop down menu, but i'm getting the blank category showing up on the classifieds home page, and i'd rather not have it there.

If you do not have permission to view a category you can get issue with trying to view ads from a seller as we check category permissions on the cat the ads are in. A user can upload to one of your blank cats and this will be an issue for you.

We also tried your previous suggestion below but it just seemed to move it over to the right, not make a blank line (space).

You can edit pp-inc.php and find this

Code:
$partext = "{$CatPerms['catname'][$chkparent]}->$partext";

maybe use this instead

Code:
$partext = "    $partext";

Well I am just explaining how things work. Your trying to make an empty block. You remove view permissions but also people to upload to the cat and this causes a permission problem I would think.

I have not tried to do something like this cause it is not how things are designed in the program. You do not give upload priviledge and not let them have view priviledges as it creates a paradox.
