Recent ads not working right

I have the recent ads enabled. When I change the number of column in the admin, the number dispayed changes accordingly. When I change the number of products to be dispayed, it only works if I choose 1 or 2. More will not display.

I am sure it is a simple fix, but I have no idea where to "fix it"...

I am also having problems changing the number of ads in the right column. I know this is discussed elsewhere, I mention it in case it is an indicator for the recent ads problem.

Your electing to not show ads with no images in your admin setup.

Basically the ad block works by viewing permissions and the setting above. We limit the query for performance reasons to grab the amount of images you want PLUS ANOTHER 10 and then out of that amount of ads we elect to display the amount of ads the user has permission to view from what is selected. That is of course after we subtract the ads with no images if you have that feature set to not display them. Thus you have 2 ads with images viewable.
