okay, on the main page because of the sidebar, the menus in the body of the index are spaced so that the sidebar on the left is in the black side bar, and the index has the effect of only existing in the whitespace of the page.

http://www.publicautomotives.com/classifieds/index.php

however, I would like to know how to move the menu bars so that they don't appear to cross over from the black area of the left sidebar onto the white area in the main body itself.

for example, in the login screen, the login looks spaced nicely and only in the white space, but the two blue bars above it span 800 px from the left to the right. I would like them to only start say 140 px in from the left so that they do not look like they are crossing from the black sidebar, into the white area.

another example of a page leaking over:

i would like for the whole register box to be confined to the white space in the body.

thanks for trying to help in advance, hope this clears up my intentions

Look at the HTML your using in the header and footer of your classifieds

If your trying to shove the classifieds over like there is a sidebar there you would need to open a td in the header to the width of the black bar and close it open another td to constrain classifieds and close that in the footer

You can check our sidebar open and sidebar close templates for html examples of that
