Ads without images - random ads

Is there a way to prevent ads without images from showing up in the random ads PAL on the Index page (and even though I have activated a recent ads strip yet, to make sure that ads without images don't end up there too)?

IN Admin => Admin Options turn this to no

Display products with no photos in features?
By default the featured products only display ads which contain photos

I've set 'Show Random images on Index page?' to Yes, however can I limited the number of images displayed? (what is the default)

Look in Admin => Layout Options you will see how many rows and columns of features to show at top of that admin section.
