Why is VBulletin So Popular Here?

I noticed that a lot of PhotoPost Classifieds users also have vBulletin.

Why is vBulletin so popular on this site?

Vbulletin is the top selling forum product in the world I would dare say

vbulletin users probally make up 30-40% of our customer base.

Well I can not speak for all.

In my case I needed for the heart of my site to be a messageboard and all other Add-ons integrate to 1 user DB with 1 login . At the time, I used EZBoard untill the popups and Ads were so bad It was better to do it yourself. There was vBulletin 2.0, UBB?? (cgi only), phpBB 1.2. I did the free phpBB thing for a year and it sucked for my needs @ the time.

- I seen sites w/ vBulletin and have 2-3 million posts with 200k members w/ 1k online.

That was good enough for me.
- It will take a load.

I can only reiterate what Zachariah has said, I have used most Forums but needed something solid, secure and good integration into a Gallery system.
After using other forum scripts it is a tad daunting to start with but once you get the hang of the admin panel it pans out nicely.

I think SMF (Simple Machines Forum) is an overlooked gem! I've recently tried this free forum software and designed my whole site around it. I've also integrated all of Photoposts software
