How do I fix this?

It's a weird problem.
As I am trying to edit the annoucement box, then I made an errors, but then I can't re-edit it anymore. The picture I attached below will explain what I mean. You know when I tried to re-edit, and click Save, it just stay like that, no change made.

I fixed it by edit the table name "settings", but is there any other way to fix so later on if my moderator has the same problem , he will fix himself without me doing it?
Many thanks for any help

A moderator can not see the admin global options first off and no html can not be placed in that box. That was your issue you placed html in there.

Thanks for your reply.
But.
Dont you see the box say "This block can contain HTML code (200 Character limit)
So that's why I included some of the html code in there.
Let's me explain to you what was happened.
1/ This is what I placed into the box and that was wrong :
Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
So what I did wrong was I forgot the " after the <a href ="....>

So it turned out to be like the image I attached above. I can't re-edit the box anymore untill I come to my database table and fix the problem by putting the " after the complete url, so what I fix was :

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
Then everything is ok again.
Therefore I made an mistake to say moderator instead of administrator because later on I will put my friend as a second admin so we will take turn to take care of the site.
So what really happen and do you have any other way to fix without going to PHPmyadmin ?
I think it should be a bug.
Correct me if I am wrong
Thanks again Chuck

Thats over 200 characters so it is not a bug remember you cut off the html so it broke things.

So you mean the only way to fix is in Phpmyadmin.
Also it's still over 200 chars but after I fix, it still show good on index and no problem in admin section. I also test to put 300 chars by edit the settings table of Announcement box content and it's still show good.
anyway, thanks Chuck

It is impossible to edit the settings table and input 300 characters in that field it is a varchar 250 character limit field.

The input box is 200 chars and your doing line break etc and its over 200 characters so when it gets written to the database it is being cut off which breaks the html and causes your issue. You must make sure whatever your putting there is not over 200 characters cause if you use html and go past 200 characters you will break the display box in admin
