Zip Codes

I just realized the Classifieds don't come with the Zip Code data, I was under the impression it was already built in when I purchased the Classifieds.

I found this post- http://www.photopost.com/forum/showthread.php?t=120641

but can you quickly explain to upload the zip code data after I purchase it, so even someone like me can understand? thanks

It does come with it? What version are you using. You should be able to enable the zip feature in the administration and see it on the site.

The newest version also offers zip searching by distance radius in the search page itself, its quite nice.

What about the actual data though? I did enable it and the colum is there, but when I enter a zip code nothing happens?

edit- I kept trying it by adding new ads and first nothing would happen, then I got a 5 miles, then it says no Zip Code?

When you install the application we create a zipData table and populate it. Now if your running an old Classifieds you might not have installed the ZipData

Try running upgrade and select to install the zipcode data

You would have priorly needed to upload the zipData files to your server.

I am running 2.42. Does anything still have to be done, or should it just work "out of the box"?

If you did not install the zipcode data when you installed classifieds you would need to upload the zipdata files I meantioned and run the upgrade to import the data. You will see on upgrade the import zipcode data option.

Will the Zip Code data be updated every time a PhotoPost product is upgraded? Or do we need to aquire updated data ourselves?
