Ad duration

I did some searches on the forum here and nothing hit, so forgive me if I over looked a post.

I'm curious about showing the ad duration on the ad itself? If someone posted the ad and people looked at it while browsing the classifieds, how would they know how long the ad has left until it will expire?

Well if the ad is an auction it will show time till auction ends. However if your talking a regular classifieds ad it does not show the date it expires since it is immaterial.

Well yeah, the regular ads. I can see it being good to have though, no one else does?

It would at least show how long that ad is meant to run for and when it will expire. I understand the auction side, but someone might come on and see some ads and they'll expire the next day... they'd come back and the ads would be gone.

Atleast it could say on the showproduct page Ad Expires: <x days>

Is it even possible to do?

I'm bringing this one back up. I and my users would like to be able to see when an ad is set to expire too.

You could modify your files to achieve this and we do have modifications forums for users to assist each other in the mod corner

I see that the products table has an "enddate" field. How could one turn that value into a viewable date?

Is there any php code already in use in one of the files that could be used to make that a readable date?

There is PHP code in use in showproduct.php for auction you could look on how to do it but you basically need to format that variable and then use it in the template
