Adding VBulletin and plain PhotoPost to Classifieds

I know this may seem backwards, but we purchased and installed PhotoPost Classifieds without any forum a few months ago.

Now it looks like we'll want to add a forum (probably VBulletin) and PhotoPost (non classifieds).

Two questions:

1. What's the high level process to hook the two databases together for PhotoPost Classifieds and VBulletin (so user registration is a single process). We don't mind reinstalling everything but would prefer not to lose the existing data in the classifieds.

2. Do we need a second installation of PhotoPost to create a simple photo sharing area, that is not "classifieds", or can we use the existing license of Photopost classifieds?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Well this was written for reviewpost but the users table is the same in our installs so you would need to do this.

You would install vbulletin and run this script to import your classifieds users into vbulletin with the proper userid's and information.

You then need to edit classifieds as such.

1. edit the config-inc.php file and specify the vbulletin database info for the users database and enter the vblicense number in the space provided.

2. edit the settings table of classifieds and do the following

setting 41 gets set to vb3
setting 83 gets set to your vbulletin mysql table prefix if you have one
settings 171 gets set to this /
setting 172 gets set to bb ( vbulletin cookie prefix )
setting 173 gets set to .domain.com ( I suggest also setting vbulletin to .domain.com )

3. Edit the classifieds usergroups table and delete all entries except administrator. edit that one and renumber it from groupid 5 to groupid 6

This will give you a working vbulletin classifieds and you can login to admin and refresh usergroups set permissions and also edit integration and reset to use the vbulletin header footer style etc

You can then install Photopost with vbulletin integration after purchasing a photopost license.
