Custom Styles in Classified

My Classifieds is using vB integration. Is it possible to use custom headers and footers instead of the vB default style in some catagories? If so, how?

Not without further defining the VB header replacement system. The switch as far as our product is concerned is if your using the vb header your using the vb header.

I've been trying to think of a way for us to offer this kind of functionality, so maybe we'll be able to cook up something in a future release.

Maybe someway to call the style by style ID#? Not sure if that is possible but figured I'd throw out the idea. Thanks for considering it.

I have installed this hack and it works perfectly in my forums.

Header/Footer For Each Forum - by ChurchMedia
http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=65890

Something like this would be EXCELLENT in my classifieds.

Right and this is the quantrum we face Your talking hacks. Our integrations and such need to be written to VB base code to be compatible for everyone. If a code modification is what it takes to get different headers and footers per forum in VB then until they allow this I doubt we could support such a thing. Rest assured we are looking at this.

I think just being able to use standard styles that vB uses would be great. I have 4 different styles that I use, being able to apply those to different pages (or even just catagories) in classifieds would be awesome.

I'm curious - if you add a styleid=XX onto the end of a PhotoPost URL, does the vB3 header pick that up and change the style that it shows?

I don't have my PhotoPost style integrated with vB so someone else will have to try.

It doesn't make any difference on my site.

Oh Ok, understood.

What if you looked at the methodology used in the vbhack above and applied something similar to the classifieds base code? There wouldn't be any need to change vb base code.

ie. Add "header" and "footer" fields to the pp_categories table and then call the information from showcat.php?

Unfortunately my imagination and technical skills are not equally weighted
