Bug in PayPal Email -- Field (when editing)

Hi Chuck,

When I edit any classified Ad I've personally created (there are currently five in the system), the field called "PayPal Email--If you select to allow users to buy your ad you must set your paypal email address here or have set this on a previous upload to this site" has text pre-inserted within it (even though I've never directly touched this field before).

Four of the ads were created in v4.x and a new one has been created in v5.0. When I try to delete the text and save the Ad, it just reappears. I tried changing the wording it contains to something else, and all five Ads inherit the change!

I've checked and Ads created by other users don't have the text pre-inserted, but once I add something into this field to test, it remains even though I try to clear the field and save it!

Can you help?

That would be strange I see nothing in the paypal email field of any ad I have in my test sites

Paypal email is empty and I see nothing in our code that is going to put anything there.

Whether I upload a new ad or edit an old ad

Clearly on edit the value that shows in the box is whatever we get from the database.

maybe turn off any vb hacks maybe you have a hack thats causing a problem since your using vbulletin. That is about my only guess

Hi Chuck,

I've just disabled ALL vB hacks I have on my installation, but the problem is still evident.

The original text it had in the 'PayPal Email' field came from an Ad I had there a while ago, although this was deleted whilst I was still running v4.x

I cannot explain, but you are more than willing to try on my system if you want the system details to login and see?

(The original wording it displayed "Spedeworth RCE Superstox for Sale" came from an Ad the Classifieds system called Product=26).

Lee I am merely telling you what I see in the code.

Your buyemail is stored in your classifieds user table

Code:

Content visible to verified customers only.

You can update that field on editing of an ad or uploading a new ad anytime you wish.

I can look at your site but the issue is not coming from the code. whatever information is displaying there has to be showing because you actually have it in there or some hack issue.

We are dealing with a straight this is the database value and edit and store a new value. Nothing too complicated there.

Is there any link between Classifieds and the vB table usercss? At the moment my table is showing as corrupt. If no link, can I send you my login details for you to take a quick look?

We get the regular user info from the vb user table. I know of no access from our program to any usercss table.

The buyemail though is STORED in the classifieds users table which for you is cp_users maybe. Like I said we explicitly store and retrieve that value from one of our tables has nothing to do with vbulletin in any manner.

You can send info for me to look at things be nice to see what is in your database.
