Two lines of extra fields

Chuck... this is an odd one. I had a member post 4 ads to the same category. Everything was cool except for one ad. In this one ad the extra fields were duplicated (see attachment). I did some digging in the database and found two entries for the product ID but they were at least 100 product ID #'s away from each other. I deleted one and it is now displayed properly. Is this possibly a database connection issue or is something else going on here? I ask because I have run across this before with the same fix.

That's interesting as I do not see how it is possible

The price and shipping fields are specific fields in the products table so what alterations have you made

Reason I ask is your your layout is not standard code and this could be what is causng your issue

All our extra fields are shown in a specific place within specific code loops if there has been changes this might cause issues.

I have never seen anyone using default code report issues

I don't think it's from the template changes otherwise all posts using the same template would have the same issue. 4 ads posted to the same category by the same user and only one had the double row of extra fields. It was easy enough to fix and so far does not seem to be an ongoing issue but I was curious as what might have caused a double entry in one table in the database. Is it possible a double click would do this during the upload process or possibly a dropped database connection?

I am not claiming this is an issue with classifieds. Just thought I'd ask if you had any ideas on the cause given you've seen more messed up scripts than anyone else over the years you've worked on this stuff.

I can only comment on what I see in your attachment as I do not see a site link. Now it is clear to me your templates are modified by looking at your attachment.

Here is the showproduct template which is the portion of code I think I am looking at.

Content visible to verified customers only.

There are no while or foreach loops of anykind so no way to double print something. It is a simply table that shows the price amount shipping amount and condition(rating)

This is why I asked what you your doing as its hard for me to respond about non standard coding we did not do. I see no way physically possible in the code where we are going to double print the table in question in the default templating.

I have already fixed the one ad that had the duplicate row in the database so there isn't much to see now and pretty much everything in PP has been modified in some way or another. It is my issue to deal with. I was just wondering if you'd seen it happen before.

Thinking as I go here... I had originally set up classifieds as a stand alone install but later decided to use VB which means starting over due to the user database. I'm thinking maybe I missed clearing one table in my efforts to port stuff over from the old database hoping to save some of my custom stuff.

EDIT: I think I got it figured. Products has 18 entries while productextras has 29. They should have the same number of rows should they not? I think I missed emptying a table which is causing the duplicate entries.

yeah if you left some entries that could do it meaning your using additional extra fields which is something different that what I saw looking at your entry which seemed to show the regular price and shipping fields in the application duplicated. They are not additional extra fields in the default application.
