Category thumbs

When you set up a new category there is an option to assign a category avatar with a full path to an image but on my test install the avatar is updated with every new upload instead of remaining the assigned image. I have thumbs enabled and entered the url correctly. The option asks for full path but if you enter a server path http://www.mydomain.com is added to the front of it breaking the image link. Entering the url works correctly but only until the next image upload at which time it's replaced with the latest image added to the category.

I just tested as long as the thumbnail is set it doesnt change. It only gets set to the latest if empty.

I have a brand new test install with no mods or even colour changes that I downloaded within the last hour and it consistantly changes the category avatar. I keep re-entering the url for the assigned avatar but it only lasts until the next image upload for the category. Try it out yourself at Main Index - PhotoPost Classifieds

for some reason do not know if its the hurricane but I try to upload an ad to your site and it just says connecting and thats all that it does.

The code that updates the category avatar is very specific you can check it out if you want in image-inc.php.

Basically what that code says is it gets the category thumbnail id whether it be a numeric id or url in your case.

ONLY if it is equal to 0 would the code update the thumbnail to that last ad uploaded.

Yep... I seem to be having periodic database failures tonight (server not code). The code in my downloaded version seems to have an extra line in it compared to what you've posted - $lastproductid

yeah thats fine I simply moved that line as it had nothing to do with this discussion.

I am just saying codewise like I said only if your category thumbnail is empty would it change as I see it.

Tracking down if there is an issue on my end or not for some reason still not able to upload to your site.

I can reproduce this issue every time on my test install;

This is only cosmetic in nature so for now I'll just disable the option and move on to the rest of the set up. When and if you do find an issue with the cat avatars just let me know. They would be nice to have but no biggie without.
