Relist Decrements Sale...?

I don't know if this qualifies as a bug, but when I get a sale, the statistics pal increments the number of sales by one. Which it should. But once the item is relisted, it decrements the number of sales by one. It's happened three times today. Any suggestions?

Not really a bug there.

If your trying to sell multiple ads of the same thing you use the quantity feature when uploading an ad.

The relist feature is used really as an aspect when an ad expires and a user has not sold it they can relist it.

Ahh, see, most of us sell custom items that we remake over and over again. So we sell one, we relist it to sell it again.

I know the quantity feature is the way to sell those kinds of items, but its got its own problems. It sends the correct monetary amount to paypal, so the seller gets paid the correct amount, but the item count that gets sent to paypal is always one (I think I saw where its hard coded in the template as "1"), which can be confusing to both buyer and seller. Also, the quantity does not decrement right on the ad. So I told everyone to only sell in quantities of one, thus the need to relist...

Even when its used that way, there is no reason for it to decrement the number of sales by one. If something doesn't sell, and it gets relisted, it still should never take away from the sales we HAVE had.

That is incorrect that 1 is hard coded. On the ad page there is a box which allows you to enter a quantity to buy if there is more than 1 to buy. when you buy if you do not place anything but one in the box then you are only going to buy one.

The relist is the exact mirror opposite of sale. It is the opposite of the manual switch. If someone contacts you to buy an ad. you take info etc. Say you mark your ad sold and wait for payment and it never comes. You can then relist the ad and it correctly subtracts the amount that was added to stats when you hit sold. You see you never sold it

I welcome ideas on changing functionality but this function has never changed since the software was released many years ago. We added quantity functions to allow users to sell multiple items. The relist feature is not really designed for you to not allow the software to not do its job and get rid of your ad and indefinately relist an ad. It is there to really correct a user from listing his ad as sold when it wasn't and allow him to relist it.
