| Ad text not appearing properly?
I just noticed that even though an ad is created with the advanced editor, then after it's been submitted and is being viewed by the user under the show ad function, it's nothing but simple text. ie: none of the formatting set within the editor is showing?
Is there a switch someplace that needs to be turned ON to enable Classifieds to show ads with their full formatting?
Thanks ..
Regards,
Doug

Your two pictures are two different ads. Do you have all your vb3/vb4 switches on?

All of the formatting you see under the editor mode doesn't appear in the ad view mode ...
I assume you mean the switched as shown in the attached pic?

Doug

I meant what is an actual link to the site. I would suspect it has something to do with the vb4 style
Are you using version 4.1?

I'm using v4.03 which you originally installed on out vBulletin 4.04 site .... http://www.milsurps.com/pp-classifieds/index.php
You also did the paid work to get the Cdn zip codes functioning and they work great ..
v4.03 was working fine and even the RSS feeds of ads that appear in forums from ad uploads under Classifieds have the correct formatting as seen in the advanced editor. I really don't want to change to 4.1 as every time there's an upgrade, things that have been modified (whether you've done them as paid work or we've done simple template changes) get pooched and it takes weeks and more paid work to get it back to the original functioning integrated site.
I don't know when the formatting stopped appearing under the standard show ad view within Classifieds, but it was around the time of the zip code work or implementing your excellent plugin mod shown here: http://www.photopost.com/forum/class...-4-series.html
Would you like to login as Admin and have a look to see if it's something obvious? Can we hire you without having to fill out more forms again then when I enlisted in the army, to simply correct whatever the issue is and let us keep v4.03 running?
Regards,
Doug

All I can tell you is this is a conflict between the vb4 style use in the classifieds. I will investigate but this will take quite some time.

Our vb4 style hasn't changed since the day we went live and you installed the 4.03 Classifieds for us on our new site, so I'm not sure what else would be affecting it.
Appreciate your help, so let me know whatever you need us to do to facilitate that.
Regards,
Doug

I'm not sure what you mean?
It's always worked fine since the day you installed 4.03?
If you look in the bottom left corner of the web site where you select vBulletin's style, select the "vb4 default style" and it still doesn't work? So, how can it be a style issue?
I also notice that you've made some changes to our template, I assume in an attempt to get it working, but now our iTrader link has stopped working?
Did you save the old showproduct template before the changes?
Regards,
Doug

what is itrader?
I would look at your site but I would need to go see if I still have your site info.
Probally easier to test on the actual site. I will let you know if I do not have access.

I will let you know if I do not have access. | You've already been to the site this morning at 10:00 am using my Admin access and logging in from Abingdon (or someone else from support using your computer was) and modified the template showproduct.tmpl. In that process, the link redirect we had put in-place (added with your orignal help) to our iTrader rating system got changed?
I don't understand the disconnect here Chuck. Even an unregistered guest connecting to Main Index - Quartermaster Stores (Member Classifieds) and selecting the default vb4 style (bottom left corner) can see that regardless of style, the formatting doesn't work in showproduct, so that can't be the problem?
Regards,
Doug Edit: Ok, never mind about the iTrader thing. I fixed it using your original patch you had provided which I located ... thanks ... still have the lack of formatting issue Quote:
Original:
<li><a href="{$Globals['maindir']}/member.php?uid=$iuserid&ppaction=readfeed">{$pp_phrase['seefeed']}</a></li>
Change to:
<li><a href="/itrader.php?u=$iuserid">{$pp_phrase['seefeed']}</a></li>

The problem I see is somehow the vb4 style doesnt allow the h1 and h3 HTML tags to work. Like I said I will do some testing.

yes it all depends on the html used. It might be an incompatibility with using tinyMCE with vbulletin because we use vb to display or parse code. Using standard html tags like bold italic underline work as posted.
things like em strong etc do not work which tinyMCE uses.

So, the default vb4 style as delivered by vBulletin is all of a sudden blocking h1 and h3 tags. That implies that something more global is affecting the display of the code under Photopost Classifieds, that doesn't affect the same code when displayed under regular vBulletin forums.
Is there someplace I can look on the vBulletin end of the equation that would help you in an way?
Regards,
Doug

I just looked at your ad using simple bold and italics etc ....
When I created the original ad I used in the pics I posted to you above, viewing it from within the tiny editor versus viewing it after it was submitted, I did use the tiny editor's "advanced" controls to change font size, font type and style, as well as things like paragraph formatting and indents. NONE of tiny editor's stuff seemed to work when displayed with the showproduct template under vb4 (default style), yet the ad when read by your RSS program and displayed in the WTS vb4 regular forum is all correctly formatted. Look at the ad as it appears there. Ad appears fine within vb4 forum as fed by Photopost Classifieds RSS code
It matches the view shown in the pics above that appears when in the EDIT mode using tiny editor's advanced mode perfectly.
Regards,
Doug

Chuck ....
All the edits we worked so hard with you on to redirect to vb4 members Profile and to send a PM using the vb4 members PM in-box etc, are now disappearing and they've been reverted to redirecting our members to the ppclassifieds equivalents?
Did you save the old pp-inc and other PHP files when you did this?
Also, our custom thumbnail for no pic is now gone!!!
Regards,
Doug

Chuck....
I have no idea now what's changed and more importantly why, except we've now lost virtually ALL of the edits to improve integration of Photopost Classifieds 4.03 with vb4. Many of these edits were paid for work through Photopost.
PHP files have been altered, templates changed and the original formatting issue problem we reported here still exists.
How do I get our Classifieds site back to the way it was this morning before this adventure started?
Regards,
Doug
ps: I've CLOSED the Classifieds site to access until I can get this all cleaned up ...

Your profile links go to vbulletin as well as the contact box goes to a vb pm
I am going to test your issue with tinymce on my site but again an answer there is not going to be soon there as I need to debug that issue and find out what doesnt play nice between the tinymce code and vb4 style and not preventing tinymce from displaying right.

The Members List points to the wrong one and there are other username links that are still pointing to the wrong profile, not the vb4 one.
I have a complete backup of directory /ppclassifieds from 5:00 am this morning, which I can restore and should put everything back to the way it was (except the original formatting issue).
The only thing that would be missing would be your test ad of this afternoon ...
Should I do that restore for you?
Regards,
Doug
