Description for Cat Display is odd compared to item ad itself?

It appears to be translating within ad itself, but not on category display for the item's description?

we do not display html in the showcat script as that can break the cat display

I'll tell members they need to make sure that the first paragraph or so that might end up being picked up in the description line, should not contain any net links etc.

Yes see lets explain it a little deeper so you understand.

On the showcat script we limit the length of the description displayed to x amount of characters so things display right. Now if we parsed html in a DESCRIPTION and then cut the description down to say 125 characters and it breaks right in the middle of bbcode html etc then you can get a broken page display.
