Recent Comments block look funny

The Recent Comments block on my site look kinda weird. Only the first comment on top has the thumbnail/link showing. The rest of the comments has no thumbnails or link.

I am using VB4.

Also, by having Recent Comments and Users browsing the ads block on, does it require more brain power from the database? Need to optimise the setting as much as possible.
