Auction Template Bug? Is there a bug or am I just not understanding how it works. I have three categories in my classifieds for auctions. I have always used the "Auction Templates" for those three categories. In the new 4.01 version, there is no place to enter a "reserve price" or a "buy it now" if I use the auction templates. That's strange because in the "For Sale" templates, there are those options. |
OK...I guess it works properly if you use the "For Sale" template and then choose all the correct options. The "Auction" template seems to not do much of anything though. You can't enter reserve or anything else if you use it. Is there a purpose for it at all? |
Auctions are only held in FOR SALE templates and everything appears to work fine for me and apparently for you also based on your last comment so I am not sure what you mean here. Your first sentence in your second post says everything works and your second sentence says nothing works so a bit confusing. |
OK...it's not a problem now that I know that. So what is the "Auction" template for? Just curious. |
We dont have an auction template. We have For Sale, Wanted, Help Wanted, Personals and Business type templates. Auctions in the for sale template simply put are to run an auction like ebay. |
OK...I don't know where my auction template came from. I don't think I've ever created one but it's there. No problem. Thanks for the responses. |
Yeah if you go under Ad Types in Admin you will see the template types and in Classifieds they should be as follows 0 For Sale 1 Wanted 2 Personals 3 Help Wanted 4 Business |
Well...mine were a bit different. I had a "For Auction" and a "For Trade". Probably something I did at some point or another but I just don't remember it. that's what happens when you start getting old. :( |
Yeah if you rename or redo templates that might confuse you a bit. The number 0 template is the FOR SALE template set which is used for auctions it is in fact the only one in our default set that has the allow bidding checkbox which makes an ad an auction. |
