Classifieds Auto Logging Out? (vBulletin Licencing)

Hi Chuck,
Something odd has started to occur within my installation of 'Photopost Classifieds'. I login to the forum as usual and then move to the Classifieds area as I have done for the past three years and then for no apparent reason my site logs me out.

I've made no changes to my site at all for the past few weeks and this issue started to happen yesterday as far as I can tell.

The only annomily is that my vBulletin 'support' licence expired on August 2nd(renewal submitted today), so I'm wondering if this is the cause of the logging out problem?

Although I 'own' an unbranded vBulletin licence, if my support licence expires have you configured the Photopost Classifieds to not intergrate with vB if the support licence is not current?

Under our FAQ section you can view our cookie thread. To my recollection all you need to verify is cookies are set like this in both apps

cookie path /

cookie prefix bb

cookie domain .yoursite.com

Then under config setting you place the proper vblicense number where asked.

Okay Chuck, thanks for the direction as always.

Hopefully the licence renewal will be approved within the next 24hrs. I believe I'm right in thinking that once vBulletin process the payment I'll still retain the same vBulletin licence number, in which case I shouldn't need to alter any of the above and hopefully the Classifieds will continue to work as normal.

If this problem is caused by an expired vBulletin support licence, it maybe worth highlighting to you that the issue doesn't occur within 'Photopost Pro'.

I'll give you an update when I know more.

Hi Chuck,
My vBulletin licence has renewed and yet I still have this auto logout problem.

My cookie settings are as follows:

cookie path in vB, PhotoPost and Classifieds: /
cookie prefix in vB, PhotoPost and Classifieds: dbb
In Photopost Classifieds and PhotoPost Pro the cookie domain is: .mysite.com
In vBulletin the cookie domain is: (blank)

I do have the dropdown option of setting the cookie domain in vB to .mysite.com, however if I do this, despite clearing all cookies in IE and Firefire I get inconsistent login issues in the forum when I test.

Basically as stated in this first thread, although I can use my forum without any problems as soon as I log into the Classifieds and click into a Classified subdirectory I get logged out of the whole site.

Would you like me to send you a test user account so you can test the problem?

You need to make sure you clear all cookies in your browser after you make the change to what I suggested.

All Cookies had/have been deleted Chuck, and yet when I login and try to use the Classifieds I get logged out still.

None of these settings on my site have changed for over 3 years, which is way I'm so confused. Just a thought; has there been a changed/ungrade in IE or Firefox that in some way affects the handling of the Classified code?

I'd rather not post login details to my site puplically, any chance I can email them to you?

My suggestions are these then

1. Update vbulletin

2. update classifieds

3. recheck your cookie settings

4. if still experiencing issues email us the proper logins to look at your site.
