Shouldent bids increment?

Here is the bid increment:
User bid 175.00 . Instead of making the high bid $85 or 90 or 100 it went straight to $175. Shouldent it have incremented?

Not always. Your forgetting the one bidder. His $80.00 bid so then what was his high bid.

Your new user's bid triggered and outbid that one users highest bid. There is a check for that.

Do you mean there is a check that I check? Assuming the users bid was $80.00 shouldent the $175 bid become $90? What do I need to set for it to work like that?

Draxx no your missing what I am saying. Lets say the user who has the high bid of 80 bucks has a maxbid of 170 then say this other user comes by and bids maxbid of 250 then his bid is going to be set to 175.

You follow this now. Each user has a maxbid so the amount that wins the highbid depends on the amounts present. Example a current price between 100-500 the bid increment is 5 dollars.

So in otherwords it is just a coincidence that in the first auction the two top bids were $170 and $175 and this is confusing me into thinking high bids dont increment. Is that what your trying to tell me?

what I am telling you is there is the highbid but your not taking into consideration a users maxbid which is used to determine who has the next highest bid and what amount that is going to be based on the next users maxbid
