Creating categories with words containing an umlaut

Launched Photopost Classifieds on one of our websites, which works fine. When creating a category using an umlaut within the title, the category title doesn't appear in 'edit categories'.

e.g. tried using 'ü' instead of ü to fix the issue, but no luck.

Any suggestion what might help?

using 3.02

problem occurs when umlaut title is a top-category and having sub-categories. creation is not an issue. cannot see title after creation when in adm-misc.php?admact=admcats&ppaction=cats

Interesting I would need to see your site seems to work fine for me

Work around is ae instead of ä or ue instead of ue.
