what version are you using as it does not look like your showcat is current version as mcats can only be an integer.

Do you see this code in your showcat.php file? It shows me mcats can only be set to an integer yet yours clearly is a string.

There is your issue it does not appear to be the same as the downloaded code probally a bug fixed in one of the revisions 3.02 or 3.03 look at your last line it says string.

Should I change it to INT or do I need to download and re-install?

You can change STRING TO INT or download the zip and reupload the showcat file its up to you. I am merely pointing out thats the problem.
