(see this link for the actual ad: http://www.caymanclub.net/classified...uct/672/cat/17 )

Notice how it looks like some people are outbidding themselves? I've talked to those members and they've all told me that no, someone else outbid them and so their bid went higher, although I don't know if that is from an automated bid to their max or manual bid I didn't ask. But, as you can see from the list, it doesn't show ALL of the bids because it doesn't show the bid that went higher than their bid causing them to raise theirs. Is there a fix for this?

TIA!

Your bid history looks fine

Remember the user places a max bid when they place a big so what happens is they outbid someone they get the high bid now when some one places a bid and it does not outrank their max bid then they get the high bid again

UNSUCCESSFUL BIDS do not show as the bid is never placed it does however trigger someone's maxbid to go out

I think what people are concerned about is let's say you bid $300 with a max of $500. Someone else comes along and bids $400, but is immediately outbid by your max of $500, let's say it shows $425 (assume a $25 increment). The auction ends and the person who started bidding at $300 looks at the bidding history and all they see is another bid for $425 by themselves. They don't see any other bids, what that person is wondering is "who" forced my bid to go higher, was there even a valid attempt at bidding against them or was it some shill or worse still a moderator or administrator of the site.

In essence the bid history as it stands now is simply the "successful" bid history but not the "complete" bid history. I think an administrator should be able to see the "complete" bid history to check to see if any monkey business is going on (shills etc.) or to alleviate any fears of the high bidder who looks at the history and sees what looks like them bidding against themselves.

Hope that makes sense.

well like i said bids that are not successful are never entered so there is never anything to track. we can look at placing dummy records in the bid tables.

Yes if those "dummy" bids could capture the username/userid and the amount they bid I would think that would be sufficient.

yeah as stated the bid history is complete as those are actual bids see the issue is your wanting to also track the bids that are never bids as they where turned down for being not enough
