Ad currency lost during buy it now?

When posting a new ad, there is a choice for the user to enter the currency. If a user on our site creates a new ad with a currency other than USD, then the buy it now option still seems to be showing the amount in USD before sending the user to paypal, and it seems to be sending the currency over as USD to paypal. End result is that the paypal'd amount is incorrect. Do I have something set wrong in the admin section? I do have paypal currency set to USD, but I see no way to tell it to use the currency option of the ad that is being purchased?

That is because this is not built in because we support alot of currency displays and paypal does not hense you set the paypal in USD. Now you can alter your language strings in the english.php file in your language directory for the reserve price to note it must be entered in US dollars that should assist you.

Ok so right now one user can post an ad in Canadian Dollars and then another user comes along and has no way to see that it is intended to be sold in Canadian Dollars and then they do buy it now and it has them pay the wrong amount. How can I prevent this from happening? If the paypal interface only supports one currency, then I need a way to disable the poster from listing an ad in any other currency, no? Is there a way to do that?

Are there any plans to make the product work properly with the currencies that PayPal does support?

well that would mean removing alot of currency displays

I would suggest simply that you alter the reserve price language string on upload to reflect that all reserve pricing is in US Dollars as that is what I intend to do. Paypal itself is pretty limited but alot of people use it.

Well .. that was 2008, its now 2011. I just installed the latest version of this script, and am finding that currency does not work properly. The seller sets up their item for pounds, someone clicks buy it now, and it charges them in USD? Seriously? That was another reason I decided to move to this script - was I thought it actually supported multiple currencies. You are telling me it only allows payment via PayPal in USD? For real? Please tell me the new version has a fix or something....

I need people who list in USD to receive payment in USD.
I need people who list in CAD to receive payment in CAD.
I need people who list in pounds to receive payment in pounds.

I know PayPal supports this .. and I thought this script did. What's the deal? Please help!

well the simply thing is a slight alternation however it is 2011 and paypal still does not support this. They support SOME currencies. You are gonna be in a world of mess if you pass a currency they do not support.

The payment system the sellers currency is set in payment options in admin.

You can edit your buy template this line

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
change to this

Code:

Edit your buy.php script and alter the currency table query so that it is this adding in the code

Yeah I could do some fancy coding I guess and if paypal supports the currency code on an ad then they can get paid in that ad and if the ad currency does not exist in paypal maybe default it to the site default paypal currency. That might work but yes we support like 30 different currencies in classifieds. Paypal supports 10 of the 30 currencies we list. Paypal has a few that we do not have. We tried including the main ones in our app and its easy for me to add more as long as I know the proper currency format and symbol and code.
