| Stat counts a bit off...
I've noticed that the ad count remains the same even after the ads themselves have been deleted/sold/removed. Also, the total number of items simees to be a bit inflated! Any suggestions?

Do you have the category cache on? You can wait for it to update or turn it off.

On a side note, is there a way to reset (delete if necessary, as if no one ever posted) the stats back to zero so I can test the stats section from scratch?

You would need to edit the stats tabe directly in mysql and set the amount to 0 as thats not meant to be started over.

Okay, well, i didn't go in and reset to zero as of yet, but I did post another ad, then marked it as sold, after a few minutes the stats refreshed themselves properly, but the ad count for the category is still showing as if there are four ads in the category, when indeed there are none... what gives?
You may test with:

Go into Admin and go to Scan Database and click the rebuild counts does that help you?

| Negatory...
it did not work. Still displaying 4 ads in the amphibians section, and all have been marked as "sold" and been deleted. WHen you enter the category, there are no ads to view.
Secondly, the counts are inflated drastically. The 'items sold' count prior to the last item being sold (yesterday) was at 367 (which in itself is inflated as I have not posted more than 20 or so ads since it's install for testing purposes), after I marked the 4th item as sold, todays updated count is now 548. I don't understand how marking one item as sold, would update the 'items sold' count by an additional 181 items.
Additionally, the last (4th) ad I placed and marked as sold, I did not inlcude a price, nor a '0', i left that box blank. Even still, the 'value of items sold' als went up, from $106 to now... $151. Will leaving the value/box blank cause an error? Must some one enter a '0' to keep the values true?
I will look forward to your reply, again if necessary, let me know, and I can provide you admin rights temporarily so that we may fix this bug...
I will again test one more ad, in the same amphibian section, and mark it as sold to see if the inflation continues.

If an ad is marked to sold the stats are adjusted accordingly. I would have to know exact motions your doing with full explicit urls and you might want to send a admin login to support.
As far as the ad recount it should work fine. Again I would need to look at your admin side. when we recount ads it should recount only approved ads.

I have submitted the request as you suggested, and provided a temporary admin login as well. I will look forward to your next reply.

Well, not sure as to whether or not you were done tinkering behind the scenes since I gave you the FTP access you requested, but I did notice you brought the category ad count back to zero. I have since reset the stat counts back to 0, and reposted two ads for testing purposes. One I set for best offer '0' and the other was to be sold for '$5'. I have since marked them as sold, and the stat counts are seemingly correct, 2 ads, at a total of $5, but the ad count in the category still shows 2...

Hmmm, it appears i spoke too soon... just a few minutes ago, my total items sold had risen to 21 and value of items was at $11, now a few minutes later, items sold is now read 43, and value of items is now $15. No more ads have been posted since the previous reply, only two have been posted since I reset the numbers to 0 earlier. I just don't understand... obviously eh?

I can look at your category thing again if you like but as I posted that corrected itself when I uploaded correct files. As far as the stats they can only be updated two ways and two ways only in the code. One when a user marks his ad as sold and two if you run sendnotice and an auction is closed and the amounts are added. Stats can not rise any other way. I would definately suggest you check you have not had any sold or closed auctions done. If your having a problem with the cron script maybe there is an issue with how your cron is setup on the server that prevents it from fully operating but otherwise I dont see anyway the stats can not update correct.

There have been no other ads posted, nor auctions as the site is not live yet. I am the only one posting 'test' ads at this point. You state that the category thing has been corrected since you uploaded the correct files, yet there are 0 ads in the category but it is still displaying 2 ads in the category that has none. Also, the stats totals have risen, again, without any additional postings... now up to 62 items sold, and value of items is now at $20 - again, this is from the original 2 ads posted since I reset the counts to 0. The first ad was placed for '0', and the second was set at $5. Does this sound like a cron error?

Seems to be working, aside from the category ad totals, but the self inflating stats have stopped... thanks!
