Error Just Showed Up

I just started getting the following error at my www.FreeCarsNetAds.com web site: An error was encountered during execution of the query:

Warning: mysql_fetch_row(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/freecars/public_html/index.php on line 53

I also receive the following email after each visitor:

SELECT symbol,type FROM cp_currency WHERE code = '$'
The query returned with an errorcode of:
Table 'freecars_phpb1.cp_currency' doesn't exist
If you need assistence or feel this is a 'bug'; please report it to our support forums at: http://www.photopost.com/members/forum/f66/index.htm
To turn off these emails, set $debug=0 in your config-inc.php file.

I have no idea why it is there at the top of the index page? It looks like I am running Ver 2.6 I need someone who is a PHP/PhotoPost person that I can hire to fix this problem.

Help!

You have attempted to upgrade your classifieds it would appear and have not ran the upgrade script. Make sure to perform a standard upgrade per the upgrade documentation in documentation folder and then run upgrade.php and select the 2.5-2.6 upgrade. I show you have an old upgrade file on your site so you might as well check that you have uploaded all the proper 2.6 files.

Thanks and...

Chuck,

Thanks for your quick reply to my post. I never tried to do an upgrade? I'm too dumb to do that, lol. I'm a car guy and not very good at PHP or other types of them thangs.

Can I make a donation or buy you lunch and have you do what you recommended. I don't want to take a chance on destroying all the ads that are up and running. I rahter have a pro do it and get it done right.

I would really appreciate it.

Thanks,

Ray

You may purchase an upgrade from our online store if you would like us to upgrade the site.

Tried Update File

Hi Chuck,

I ran the update.php file on my server and now the program has trouble finding photos, yikes! It seems I did what I was afraid would happen.

I can't afford to do an update right now. I live in San Diego and the fires destroyed my income for the last 3 months. 2008 is looking a lot better but for right now, we are living day to day, rebuilding our lives.

Is there a way I can go back so I can aleast have a working site? I could kick myself for running the update.php file. That lil voice in my head was right, "You'll Be Sorry!"

Thanks for all your help.

Hello you seem to have done the opposite of what i posted above. I posted that you must download the classifieds package and upload all the files except config files and then run just the 2.5-2.6 upgrade. You still have a mix of old and new files on your server and you ran the wrong upgrade script versions which messed with things. The only way out of your mess would be to restore a valid backup of your classifieds database and properly download the classifieds source code and upgrade your site properly. Your running right now a mix of old and new files. Example your looking for a currency table thats your error however the version your running did not have a currency table. That was added in 2.6 not 2.5

Thanks

Chuck,

Thanks for your replies. I am going to see if I can beg, borrow or steal the $99 for the latest version and $49 for a pro to do the update. I have no idea how to restore things and I rather than dig the hole deeper, pay to have it done right.

Thanks again,

Ole Dummy Ray

If you dont have a database backup then there is no need for you to do anything really just delete the messed up ads. By the way you should simply need to purchase a members area renewal to gain access to new code not a new license.
