Error when submitting (step #3) new ad

I'm getting this msg when submitting a new ad:

Warning: imagejpeg() [function.imagejpeg]: Unable to open '/path/to/my/ppclassifieds/data/18/thumbs/product.jpg' for writing in /path/to/my/ppclassifieds/image-inc.php on line 161

Know what is causing this?

That tells me your data directory is not 777 at every level or either that directory does not exist. You need to ftp to your site and ensure permissions are set on every directory under data to 777 as well as data 777 and each directory in data has 2 directories large and thumbs which need to be 777.

Okay, thanks. That's what was keeping the thumbs from generating? How can I ensure all future "new data/folderhere" are 777d?

If your data directory is 777 new directories would be set to 777.

Ahh, okay. So for now I just have to manually 777 the existing directories? And is there some way to get the thumbs to generate at this point, even though the ads have been placed and currently are showing no thumb?

yes you need to correct any existing directories and if data is set to 777 then the new ones will create right.

What about creating thumbs for the images that have already been uploaded? I went to Scan Database in AdminCP and did both Check for and create missing thumbnails and Rebuild all thumbnails, but there are still some ads that have images in them that it didn't create a thumb for, as in my Featured Ads block not all ads with images are showing a thumb.

well double check those directories to make sure you have set them to 777.

You can post a URL here as an example.
