I have PP-Classifieds integrated with VB. In Edit Usergroups, I have set it so that only certain usergroups can place adverts. In Edit Category (I only have 1 category) I have set it so that the same usergroups can view, upload and post to this category.

However, even if I'm not logged in I can see the adverts

Am I doing something wrong?

You can not view the ads though. cat=all can not set permissions on a result that does not exist.

You miss what I am saying. Try clicking an advert. They can not view it. What I am saying is you can not hide that because to hide that you need to apply category permissions and can not do that unless your in a category.

I understand that. But an unregistered person can see a summary of all the adverts and click on the ad poster and contact him direct. I'm trying to make the adverts completely private, for certain groups only

well the issue here is you can not set permissions for a category that does not exist. You could edit your indexhead template and remove the links that would work.
