| Classifieds Stats too high?
I'm not sure if this is a bug or not but the Stats on my page indicate that our "Value of items sold" is $2.15 million dollars in classifieds. There are only 12 items listed as "Items Sold" and only 23 active ads. We have mostly used boat listings on the site but there is no way that these boats sold for that much, especially not 12 of them.
Could it be that the "Value of items Sold" total goes up when someone closes their ad or it expires and is added again if they relist or renew their ad? If so I might want to change the naming structure to "Value of Items Listed" instead of Sold.
I've attached a screen shot of the stats. Any input is appreciated.

The only way I see that the stats are updated are two ways.
1. An auction closes and the high bidder is emailed and that price is added to the stats.
2. The user himself or you as admin mark the item SOLD when viewing the ad.

Auctions (or bidding per category and payments per usergroup) are turned off and have never been on, just classifieds listings. I have only marked one item as sold. Is there a way to see where others have marked items as sold? The automatic ad delete/renewal script wouldn't be adding the numbers to the sold tally then reloading the ad again would it? Is there a total field or could one be calculated for the total value of all ads listed (not necessarily sold)? That would be a stat that could be large without looking suspicious. As always thanks for your help Chuck.

The sendnotice script only adjusts the stats on a auction close. Regular ads are marked sold by users when they view their ads. Thats out of your control really as they have the right to mark the ad sold and once they do your stats are updated. What version of the script are you using.

I have version 2.61 installed. If only 12 items have been marked as sold and the total is $2,159,529 that just doesn't make sense. Is there a way for me to view the 12 ads that were marked sold? Maybe someone threw in an outrageous number.

Well you can view your products table and view the sold ads by issuing a query.
As far as though if you have set your expiration script in place old ads over 2 weeks ago may be deleted and there is no way to check this but I suspect one of your users posted a huge price on a boat.

Chuck, anyplace I could look for this in with phpMyAdmin in the database tables? If nothing else, if I could edit the number down to something more realistic, at least I'd have a place to start again. Thanks.

The products table has your ads. What exactly are you trying to find? The ad could be long deleted from your site if its over 2 weeks ago. You would have to view the database tables and look at the info for the ads. Since you say you only have 12 ads should not be that hard. You can edit the stats table and edit the amount surely. One of your ads probally has a high price.

I looked at the 'products' table in classifieds via phpMyadmin and saw the current ads but as you say if its been more than 2 weeks the amount wouldn't show up for expired ads. There were only 12 ads total since installing classifieds that were actually marked as sold. I'll keep looking in the tables to see if I can find the field that might contribute to the 2.5 million amount, so I can edit it.

Okay I found it. In the classifieds tables the class_stats table had the huge number in it. I knocked it down to a more reasonable number and we're good to go now. Thanks for your help Chuck.
