The show showfull script is designed to show a certain width 96% I beleive it is. You will see you need to use the scroll bar to see the rest of the picture.
There are certain compatibility features built into the software to combat Internet Explorer bugs since Microsoft refuses to do so. Your always going to get things operating a little different in IE versus Mozilla. One of the reasons I use Mozilla exclusively and only keep IE and Opera around to make sure of compatibility.

What you wrote makes no sense to me. Please, provide a visual example of what you are describing.
The pop-up window gets its height and width from the images dimensions. For this very reason it is a perfect fit when the scrollbar is not there.
When scrollbars=yes, Firefox will only show the scrollbar if needed. Since the window is a perfect fit, it is never shown in Firefox, unless you manually make the window smaller. IE on the other hand will show a grey, inactive scrollbar with this option eventhough it is not needed. Since the pop up window takes its dimensions from the image, the additional scrollbar will cause the window to effectively be too small. That is why sometimes even a horizontal scrollbar becomes visible since the redundant scrollbars takes up space meant for hte picture. In that case the lower right part of the picture is covered by both scrollbars and requires user to scroll the image or manually resize the window.
When scrollbars=no, Firefox will not show the scrollbar (same behaviour as before). IE will now not show the inactive grey scrollbar and since the pop-up window is the exact size like the picture, this behaviour is perfect and the whole picture is visible.

Look right at the template showfull Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
I dont know about you or your browser but most definately I am running the latest Mozilla IE and Opera browsers and the window is definately 96% shows a WORKING scrollbar in all browsers and is working as the product is designed.

You are right. When the supersized image is larger than your screensize, you do need the scrollbars. In this case the best compromise would be scrollbars=auto (if it existed).
For all images smaller than your screensize, value "no" is definitely better since it doesn't interfere with the image.
Maybe for pictures larger than 1024x768 (most common screensize) the option could change to yes but that would mean overcomplicating things. It's much easier to edit the file yourself for those of us who will only be using smaller images.

The showfull template is always set to 96% not 100% therefore there should always be a scrollbar present no matter the imagesize because as you state we set the imagesize already.
Your free to modify the code to suit your needs surely

Okay I guess we are not making the point clear here.
One is free to code the application as they see fit. However the company as a whole has coded the application to pass and show a scrollbar is what I am saying. This is just how it is. A bug is something wrong with the code. Showing a sidebar on a popup window is neither wrong or right. Therefore this is not a bug the application correctly shows a scrollbar and as I gladly pointed out I noted where you could change this to suit your needs.

I understand and I agree that it is easier for me to change those lines to suit me but I stand by my argument that for most images the result is better with no scrollbar. That's it. |
