Ads don't expire...

Classifieds don't expire when they should, and no notification is sent to folks with auctions, bids auction ended etc...

Running VB3.5, any ideas?

I had it working right and it just stopped on it's own.... Also getting internal severer errors when posting ads.. they post but the price and condition aren't there you have to edit the ad to have a price and condition after getting the internal server error message...

That thread shows how things expire

Internal server error is a very generic message do you have any error logs with the true errors noted?

OK well I found the sendnotice.php script What does that do for me?? I can look at it and go yup there it is... This classifieds system is so touchy nothing was changed but it just doesn't work any longer. The auto response worked for a few weeks.. Is this classifieds program something that is only meant to be run by php code masters or what? I was hoping to buy a complete program that worked, I even paid for the install....

It doesn't post ads properly either.. you have to go in and edit them to get your price and condition, it sends folks to a generic Internal server error page and they double post the ad or leave..

Totally disappointed with this program 2 thumbs down... wondering what I paid for... a head ache?

The thread I linked explains you need to setup a cron script on the server and shows how. You may need to contact your webhost about more info on how to set a cron task on your specific server.

If they get an generic error that indicates your server is crapping out on something. Now you would need to open a new thread on that issue but no doubt we would need more info. Like are they trying to upload an image thats too big for the server to process etc

You can post a url and a test user login here and we can try posting an ad.

My host says No cron scripts... So I don't know how it worked before... I got an auto response from posting a comment, but not a bid.

The expire script never worked then, You would need to run that in your browser the sendnotice.php script that is and it will expire ads.

Emails and the cron script are totally different things. You do not get an email from a bid. The sendnotice script also sends out emails about the high bidding winner

Last time it was not working I enabled "f" parameter for email in VB3.5 and it was working for a while.
