Expired ads marked as sold

I have had two users tell me that their ad was marked SOLD.
The only thing I have noticed is it has happened on the expiration date.

Two possibilities.
1) The person hit SOLD instead of relist.
2) There is a bug.

Since I don't see anyone mentioning this problem, my guess it is user error.
Is there a way to confirm that it might have been user error besides asking the user?

Edit: I'm running v2.6.

His ad is either EXPIRED or he marked it SOLD

Can not be done any other way. Either way unless he relists it will be deleted from the system

I have a user that insists he has not checked his ad until he saw it marked SOLD.
This now makes three that I have noticed.

I guess I'll install the latest build and upload sendnotice.php again.

Edit: I'm now at 4 SOLD products that haven't been sold.

If the ad is expired it shows sold as stated above so I do not see any issue here.

This contradicts what you said or I'm not following.
I am now understanding that if an ad expires it is marked as SOLD automatically unless relisted.
Wouldn't it make more sense for an expired ad to be marked EXPIRED.

Thats how it has always been. I could add in future versions another approved type so it shows expired

I think that would be an excellent addition.

This would not only be a vast improvement, but ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL! Why would you mark an ad sold when it is not sold? This is a MAJOR problem that confuses users.

How about marking the ad expired and NOT deleting it so people can reference later on?

Marking the ad SOLD when it is not is simply nuts. Many people cross post ads on different boards and this is incredibly deceiving weather or not its "always been that way". This needs to be fixed pronto.

Thanks.
