2.42 Renewal Issue

Since upgrading from 2.02 to 2.42, we've had a lot of user mentions about hick-ups with the renewal system.

A common one is that users click on the renewal link in the email only to be brought to the classifieds login screen. After logging in, there is no obvious way from there to renew. (I can't remember how this was handled in 2.02.)

Has anything changed with the renewal system recently?

Perhaps a suggestion for another version is to add a RENEW option to the MY ADS product display, or change the templates to include the editing of the date range.

RENEWALS
Three days before your ad is set to expire, you will get an email warning you of the expiration and a link to renew the ad. BEFORE you click on the link in the email, open your browser and login to your classifieds account.

If you missed renewing your ad, you can always RELIST it. Login to classifieds and click MY ADS. Next, click the ad you want to relist. Then click RELIST it. The ad will be relisted for the original period of time the original ad was.

yes 2.02 worked the same as 2.42 you need to be logged in for the email link to work.

You can always relist an ad if its there. If you run sendnotice.php regularly then you are the only one who can relist it though as it will be cleaned up by being approval 2 and appear in admin section for you to relist or delete

I think I found the problem.

renew.php was not included in your latest download archive for 2.42.

My previous version of renew.php from 2.02 doesn.t seem to work bacwards with 2.42. (Illegal call to script)

Can you please post 2.42's renew.php with the 2.42 download and let me know?

PS: I also tweaked sendnotice.php to remind users to login first before clicking the link. I also added the product $title so that users with multiple items renewal would know which one they are being asked to renew.

Are you sure you are uploading all the new files?

There is no renew.php in 2.42 the code is now in editproduct.php if your talking the sold relist links

There was never a renew.php file in the 2.42 code.
